I'm sure you've had some sexual anatomy 101 courses in school. Think of what it would be like to have more of an anatomy 401 understanding and skill level. We're going to take a deep dive into this because it's really important to understand your spouse's body. Becoming a student of your spouse's body (in addition to their emotional and mental being) is critical for healthy intimacy to grow. It takes time to learn, and that's ok!
I've spoken to many couples who have been married for many years and never learned what brings physical pleasure to their spouse. Lack of knowledge, immaturity, or selfishness all contribute to dissatisfaction in marriage.
I've also heard of countless examples of women faking an orgasm because they were too afraid to hurt their husband's feelings. It's so important not to pretend. Not being fully honest creates a chasm and will not help you grow together. If you're the husband, don't let your ego get in the way of honest feedback. It isn't your fault if orgasm for your wife is difficult, but you can be an equal part of a two-person team to work on strategies together in order for your wife to experience orgasm, or better orgasm, or more orgasms.
Remember, it's not about performance, and perfection. It's about relationship. Navigating the complexities of sexual pleasure is a way to draw you close if you choose to see your struggles as a team and overcome them as a team.
Ask your spouse more questions during a non-heated moment in order to get a better understanding of what she needs. Remember that her desire and ability to orgasm may change based on many factors such as fluctuating hormones, stress, and emotional connection.
As a husband, your GPS navigating strategies need to include an understanding of her cycle, her emotional needs, and stress response. But you also need to understand all of her complex anatomy and the way it responds to touch. Every woman is a bit different, and so this is why it's important to learn from her. Encourage her to communicate when something feels amazing, or when she'd like you to focus on a specific spot or in a specific way.
Women's bodies are so wonderfully complex! They are beautiful and designed by a very creative God who loves them and wants them to enjoy pleasure. Vaginas and breasts are all unique so if you're wondering if your wife's parts are normal......the answer is yes. The female clitoris is much more complex than most people understand. The only visible part is the tip, which is the small ball above the vaginal opening. This beautiful organ actually looks more like a wishbone as it extends to both sides of the vaginal wall and labia. All of these areas can be pleasurable for women, and the most concentration of nerve endings is at the tip external part of the clitoris.
Just like husbands mostly enjoy pleasure not just on the penile shaft, but the scrotum, and secondary pleasure zones, etc, A wife has many erogenous zones that will build a much stronger orgasm for her typically.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14
