Make Love Not War

I admit, I’m slightly hippie, but mostly in my love of nature and having a wandering, free spirit. A part of me didn’t want to actually post this as my title because I’m not a political activist, I think the whole system is broken and I’m just trying to do my part to love people and love God well.

Sometimes wars are inevitable and without them we might all be slaves. Christ came to set the captive free. Sometimes we need to go to battle against forces of darkness.

But really what this newest war makes me think on, is the emotional and spiritual war that goes on inside the home and within our own selves.

We may go to war with our spouses in conflict and it absolutely obliterates intimacy. What’s left behind if conflict is not resolved is destitute hearts. Over time, if repair and healing don’t take place, emotional and physical intimacy will fall apart even in seemingly peaceful moments.

The next time you find yourself in conflict, choose to wage war against the enemy (satan) and not your spouse.

Take your spouse’s hand and pray together for God to help you overcome the battles of life, to keep your marriage emotionally and physically intimate, and then… go make love to your spouse.

Let’s also pray for the people in the Middle East, Israelis, Iranians, and neighboring countries. Jewish, Muslims, Christians, and unbelievers alike. Pray for their safety and to know the peace of Christ in their hearts amid the chaos of war.

Love,

Kristi
